I know, I know, everyone has the same problem, but I think mine is a bit different.
So I am on Mac ( OS X 10.5.8 ) and I can't preview my video because the window crashes.

I've downloaded the right MPlayer (MPlayerOSX_1.0rc1.dmg), and my Jubler automatically found it.
I've put my video and my subtitles files on my Desktop to make sure it had nothing to do with accents etc.
My Jubler does not say "ffdecode libary not active" anymore, and really everything seems in place.

But still, when I click on play to preview my video with the subs and the video starts playing...
The preview windows closes right away with no indication of what went wrong.

Does anyone know what's going on here ?

Are you sure the file is playable by MPlayer?
Have a look at the log file of Jubler, ofund under ~/Library/Logs/Jubler.log

Yep, the file is playable by MPlayer. It's just a regular AVI file, and it's playable Smiley
When I look at the log file, here's what it says : "Found relaxed encoding ISO-8859-1"

There is a new beta version of mplayer, which is ready for osx but has still some issues with windows.
I'd suggest to try it when it will be released (soon), and use MPlayer OSX extended instead.

I'm having the same problem, only with Mac Tiger.  When I try to preview, Mplayer crashes.

Here's what I'm using:

- OSX Tiger 4.11
- Jubler 4.5Beta3
- Mplayer OSX Extended, revision 11 (last version for Tiger)
- .AVI file and .srt file are located on desktop when using Preview

The avi files plays just fine on the desktop using Mplayer, only Mplayer crashes when using Jubler.

The log file for Jubler states:

MPlayer! 2010-02-16 17:54:34.475 mplayer[347] CFLog (21): dyld returns 2 when trying to load /Library/QuickTime/LiveType.component/Contents/MacOS/LiveType

MPlayer! - MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
MPlayer!   It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
MPlayer!   gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
MPlayer!   DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
MPlayer!   won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug

And the crash log for Mplayer reads:

So I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to get this working.  Please help.  Thank you.

[EDIT]  Nevermind.  I failed to see this thread   http://jubler.org/smf/index.php?topic=126.0  before I posted.  I downloaded the proper version of MPlayer, and this along with Beta3 and I am up and running.  This is an awesome piece of software here.  I love it!
